Going back to work, lack of interest, Hockey hockey and more hockey

It comes not a moment too soon, I'm headed back to the firebag, for, so I'm told, at least two months, and hopefully for a full 10 weeks as I'm coming home for my sister's wedding in July anyway. It might be better to be sent home then to just demand time off, maybe not, but it's the big guys, Suncor, they want us done and gone by the end of june, but it doesn't always work that way, now does it. I'll be back in the Mac on Sunday the 26th, (hopefully they'll have a room for me at camp) and I start back on to work Tuesday on a 10 and 4 with some remote possibility of... yes....overtime!!! Love overtime!!! Loves it!!! But we may also be going to 12 hour days too....not sure how feels about that. But anyway...back to work next week!! YAY!!

You've probably noticed my utter lack of interest in posting any updates to my blog for the last while, well sorry, I was totally immersed in a sucking downward spiral of not working depression and felt that since everyday here was the exact sucky same as the last, there was no need to draw uneeded attention to my suckiness. Well, super suckiness actually. But that's all about to change. I should have lots to post about soon, though I may not have access to the internet as easily as I do here, so I may not actually post anything for the next 2 months.

Being a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan, the last few playoffs have not really meant anything to me as my boys in blue were golfing, or busy sucking at whatever other sport they do in their spare time, when they were finished sucking at hockey that is. But this year, this year is different as I have succumbed to the lure of easy(?) money and have joined a playoff hockey pool. That's right. The hockey pool, the place where all your usual team loyalties are thrown to the dogs as you try and pick who you know in your heart of hearts is the best available player. I saw a die hard Montreal Canadians fan who had second pick, take Marc Savard from the Canadians biggest playoff rival Boston Bruins. I almost laughed out loud (or lol for short,) and I actually asked him "Adam, you picking Bruins players??" He says, "Ya, I'm going with the money not my heart." Terrible. The root of all evil getting in between a man and his hockey team. Money vs. Hockey!! and not even a lot a money. How easily we can be bought.

Hopefully the Flames won't be beat out by the time I get my first 4 days out, or maybe my second. I'd love to get back to Cowtown and watch a playoff game in some sports bar downtown on the red mile or electric avenue or anywhere for that matter! I only have Bertuzzi in my pool from Calgary so there's not much invested in them winning other than me possibly seeing them in a playoff game in a bar in their home town in the coming weeks, or the fantasy of knowing someone who knows somebody else with season tickets who can't go to the playoff game and they pass the tickets on to your friend and they owe you a favour and give you the tickets, or ya blow them for the tickets whatever!! It's the playoffs and anything goes!! It's a brand new season!!

Actually, 2 of my players are off with injuries so I'm only dressing 7 players while everybody else has 9 out there. I should be back to full strength soon, by the next round at least. That's if my guys are still around, well Vancouver and New Jersey don't look like they are going anywhere anytime soon so I should see a lot of round two action. Enough to keep me interested right til the end I'm hoping.

I'm tired, Calgary just won their first game against the BlackHawks, last hockey game of the night, time for bed. I may blog again before I leave on Sunday, but I also may not! So this may be it until June/July, so take care bitches!!
